The regular monthly meeting of the Board of the Town of Rockbridge was held on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at the Rockbridge Town Hall.
- Call to Order: Nickolas called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m., noting it had been properly.
- Roll Call: Doug Duhr, Nickolas Perna, Jeff Falk, Beth Kepler, and Sharon Miller were all present. Also attending the meeting were Dewayne Rasmussen representing Steve and Karen Miller and representing Scott’s Construction, Kevin Schmitd.
- Approve Agenda: Everyone read the agenda. Nick made a motion to approve the agenda and Jeff seconded. All in favor; aye, motion carried.
- Minutes of the Last Meeting: Everyone read the minutes from the March meeting and Doug made a motion to approve the minutes, and Jeff seconded. All in favor; aye, motion carried.
- Motion to change agenda order: Doug moved to move agenda item 8b up to item 2, Jeff seconded. All in favor; aye, motion carried.
- Open Seal Coat Bids with Possible Action: Nick opened the bids from Fahrner. Single Seal was $24,955 a mile and Double Seal was $49,910 a mile, and the Township supplies the chips, therefore saving the tax. Scott Construction’s bid was chip sealing single was $18,382 per mile and double was $36,764. Once again it was suggested the town buy the chips from milestone to save on tax. Scotts also gave a price of $24,000 per mile to pay for granite, instead of using limestone which is dusty and not good for wear and tear. Doug moved to go with Scotts; Jeff seconded as they were $1000.00 cheaper than Fahrner. All in favor; aye, motion carried.
- Driveway and Zoning Permits: Steve and Karen Miller applied for a driveway permit off Hustlers Ridge Dr. After carefully studying the plans, Doug moved to approve the permit pending payment and Jeff seconded All in favor; aye, motion carried. Scott said the Nedlands were requesting to change their approved house permit area. Therefore, he suggested amending the old permit to cover the new area. He noted that they would need to get a sanitary number first. Doug moved to approve, and Jeff seconded the motion to amend. All in favor; aye, motion carried.
- Financial Report: Beth gave the Financial Report, with an ending balance of $192,336.69. Doug made a motion to accept the report as given, and Jeff seconded the motion. All in favor; aye, motion carried.
- Rural Fire District Report: There were no calls into Rockbridge to report.
- Bills: The total bills amount came to $29,819.04. A motion was made by Jeff to approve the bills and Doug seconded. All in favor; aye, motion carried.
- New Business: Scott asked the board if they would want to donate a load of gravel to the Woodstock Cemetery in the Town of Bloom. After a brief discussion Nick moved to table the discussion, Jeff seconded. All in favor; aye, motion carried.
- Next Meeting Dated Set: The next meeting will be set for May 15th, 2025, at 7:00 p.m.
- Road Inspection Date: Set for 8:00 a.m. Friday May 23rd, 2025, to meet at the town hall.
- Adjournment: Doug moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:07 p.m., Jeff seconded. All in favor; aye, motion carried.
