Road Closure Notice: Ross Road Location: County DD to Old County Farm Drive Dates: Monday, July 20 – Thursday, July 23, 2026 Hours: 7:00am – 4:00pm daily Reason: Road work  

Republic was unable to complete garbage and recycling collection late last week due to flooding. Garbage and recycling will be picked up on Thursday, July 9, 2026. Republic will return to its normal schedule on Thursday, July 16, 2026.

The garbage truck broke down this morning. They’re working to get it fixed and complete the route today. If garbage is not collected today, then they’ll complete collection on Friday.

Garbage collection for the week of May 25th will take place on Friday, May 29, 2026, due to the Memorial Day holiday.

Road bans are no longer in effect for Rockbridge town roads as of Monday, April 6, 2026.

Republic Services is closed on Monday, March 16, 2026. Therefore, the Rockbridge garbage collection route is delayed by 1 day and will occur on Friday, March 20, 2026.

Road bans go into effect for all Rockbridge town roads on Monday, March 2, 2026.

Please be sure to remove your garbage and recycling totes from the roadside to allow clearance for snow removal. Thank you.

Hello everyone. I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving. Our patrolmen are working hard to clear the roads the best they can with the continued snowfall. The through-roads will take priority followed by the remainder of the town roads. Thank you for your patience and stay safe.

Garbage collection will take place on Friday, November 28, 2025, due to Thanksgiving. Town & Country Sanitation informed us that cans need to be at the street by 5am due to the holiday schedule. Thank you.
